Ambassador of India to Maldives, Akilesh Mishra has hosted a reception at the Indian Cultural Centre in Maldives to mark Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme (ITEC) Day. The function was attended by ICCR and ITEC scholarship alumni's of Maldives who had undergone short and long term courses in India.
“Students who complete courses in India are provided technical expertise in the respective fields as well as instilled with many life skill values,” the Indian Ambassador said, addressing the function. At the function some of the alumni's also shared their living and studying experience in India.
Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme (ITEC) is a bilateral assistance programme run by the Government of India. ICCR Scholarships is sponsored by the Indian Council for cultural Relations (ICCR), an autonomous body under administrative control of Ministry of External Affairs of India. Both ITEC and ICCR provide technical and vocational long and short term courses in varying fields.
