Defence Ministry holds workshop to discuss plans for 2017

The Ministry of Defence and National Security has begun a workshop to review the work carried out by various institutions under the Ministry in 2016 and discuss the strategic plans for this year.

“The past year was a successful year for institutions under the Ministry”, Defence Minister Adam Shareef Umar said at the opening of the workshop.

“Efforts were undertaken to strengthen the Aviation Security Command last year, while the National Disaster Management Centre carried out very important work in providing assistance to victims of disasters and other weather-related incidents,” he said. “Work to establish the military court and the drawing up of a new fire safety guideline will be completed this year.”

The Defence Ministry is implementing a 4-year strategic plan and holds review meeting every three to six months.
