Maldives Expo 2026 marketplace draws over 130 participants

More than 130 participants will take part in the Marketplace District at Maldives Expo 2026, up from 100 last year, as interest in the exhibition continues to grow, the Business Center Corporation (BCC) has stated.

The Business Center Corporation (BCC) and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade are jointly organising Maldives Expo 2026, which will take place from 25 October to 2 November.

The corporation noted that the Marketplace District attracted the greatest interest at last year's exhibition and has continued to receive a strong response this year. Participation in the district has increased from 100 last year to more than 130 this year.

Alongside the increase in participation, BCC has also announced larger stalls for this year's Marketplace District. Each stall will measure eight feet by eight feet, compared with five feet by six feet at the previous exhibition.

The Marketplace District will also feature two carts, one each from Fuvahmulah City and Eydhafushi City.

The Marketplace District brings together a variety of small businesses, including those involved in food preparation and arts and crafts.

Beyond the Marketplace District, BCC highlighted that this year's exhibition will differ from the previous edition in several ways, with a substantial increase in the overall number of exhibitors and products.

The number of exhibitors will rise from 240 last year to 780 this year, while the number of products will double from 2,400 to 4,800.
