The Maldives has successfully concluded its participation in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2026 held at the Dubai World Centre.
The ATM fair provides opportunities for tourism-sector businesses to establish partnerships and strengthen business relationships. It is the largest tourism fair in the Middle East.
As in other years, the Maldives participated in this year’s ATM to promote its tourism and strengthen international tourism-sector relationships. Along with Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC), 165 representatives from 74 tourism companies participated in the fair.
During the fair, the Maldives signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU)s with two major airlines, namely Emirates and Qatar Airways. These agreements cover cooperation in destination marketing and travel trade.
This year’s fair saw the Maldives’ largest ATM stand to date, spanning 517 square feet. The double-decker stand with entrances on all sides showcased the beauty of the Maldives’ underwater environments and wildlife. Visitors were also offered local snacks.
This year’s fair placed particular emphasis on business-to-business meetings. Meetings were arranged across both floors of the stand, and VMC said the meetings were well-received.
Speaking to PSM News following the conclusion of the fair, VMC’s Managing Director Yasir Abdulla said the fair was successful despite difficulties.
A new gaming application called “Hey Travellers” was also launched to promote the Maldives to international audiences. The game allows players to develop an uninhabited island into a resort.
