Historic first as Maldivian woman receives tour guide licence

For the first time in the Maldives’ tourism sector, a Maldivian woman has been granted a licence to work as a tour guide. The historic achievement was made by Aishath Sheena of Kanmatheege, Feydhoo, Seenu Atoll.

To welcome Sheena and mark the joyous occasion, a special meeting was held today at the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation.

During the meeting, Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Ameen met with Sheena, congratulated her on behalf of the government and formally presented her with her official tour guide pass.
