The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fitness has contracted Proxy Group Private Limited to develop a handball court and futsal ground in Fuvahmulah City.
The ministry signed the agreements at a special ceremony held at the ministry. Deputy Minister Ali Nizar signed on behalf of the ministry, while Proxy Group Private Limited Managing Director Ahmed Shahid signed on behalf of the company.
Under the agreement, Proxy Group must complete the handball court within 90 days. The project costs approximately USD 129,546.
The futsal ground, valued at approximately USD 134,850, carries the same 90-day completion period.
The Government continues to give special priority to developing sports facilities and advancing sport, while carrying out successful efforts in the sector. Work is currently under way on futsal grounds in 15 islands and handball courts in three islands.
