Maldives strengthens global tourism ties as TTM 2026 begins

The Maldives has stepped up efforts to strengthen its links with the international travel industry as the 10th edition of Travel Trade Maldives (TTM) 2026 opened in Male'.

The two-day event, being held at Barceló Nasandhura Male', brings together more than 130 resorts and hotels and over 250 travel operators and agents from the Maldives’ top 30 tourism source markets.

TTM provides a platform for tourism businesses and international travel professionals to hold business meetings, develop partnerships and discuss trends affecting the Maldivian tourism sector.

Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC), the destination partner and Gold Sponsor of TTM 2026, is taking part as an exhibitor. It is using a dedicated exhibition lounge to meet tour operators, travel agents, destination management companies, airlines, travel media and other industry representatives.

The participation is part of Visit Maldives’ wider strategy to promote the country as a leading international holiday destination through marketing campaigns, strategic partnerships and continued engagement with the global travel trade.

During the event, Visit Maldives is expected to focus on strengthening existing industry relationships, developing new business opportunities and expanding the Maldives’ presence in both established and emerging markets.

Destination branding for Visit Maldives is also featured prominently across the TTM venue, its TTM Connect digital platform, the official photo backdrop and associated digital and social media channels.

The event will conclude on 27 August with the TTM Awards & Gala 2026 at CROSSROADS Maldives. The ceremony will recognise achievements across the Maldivian tourism industry, with this year’s award winners announced during the evening.

Organisers say the 10th edition of TTM underlines the event’s growing role as a key meeting point between the Maldives and international travel markets, as the country seeks to strengthen tourism partnerships and support the sector’s long-term growth.
