Visit Maldives campaign reaches more than 10 million people worldwide

A month-long digital marketing campaign by Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) reached more than 10 million people worldwide, as the destination continued efforts to attract international travellers through online platforms.

The campaign, which ran across YouTube, Instagram, Google and Yandex, generated more than 160 million digital impressions, over 22 million video views and more than 600,000 sessions on the official Visit Maldives website. Visit Maldives said website traffic from targeted source markets also increased by up to 54 percent.

The organisation said the campaign combined destination-focused content with audience targeting, search advertising and remarketing to engage travellers at different stages of planning a holiday, from initial inspiration to actively researching trips.

According to VMC, the increase in website traffic from key markets suggests the campaign encouraged potential visitors to explore the Maldives as a possible holiday destination.

Ibrahim Shiuree, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation, said the campaign's performance reflected growing global interest in the destination.

"Achieving more than 160 million impressions and 22 million video views within a single month is an outstanding result for the Maldives. More importantly, the campaign generated 600,000 website sessions, showing that audiences were not simply viewing our content, but were actively engaging with the destination and considering travel to the Maldives," he said.

The campaign forms part of Visit Maldives' wider strategy to stimulate tourism demand through digital advertising, search marketing, video storytelling and remarketing, with a focus on markets offering strong connectivity and growth potential.

Visit Maldives said it would continue to monitor campaign performance and audience behaviour to refine future marketing efforts and convert online interest into increased visitor arrivals.
