MPS thanks public for cooperation during elections

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has thanked the public for their cooperation during Saturday’s local council elections, Women’s Development Committee elections and referendum on constitutional amendments to combine the presidential and parliamentary elections.

Police noted that despite unusually hot weather, voters remained patient and cooperative, adding that public compliance with police instructions helped ensure a safe and orderly election. It added that there were no significant security issues and no detainees related to the elections

MPS also praised its officers for their hard work, including maintaining security at polling stations and assisting voters. The service reaffirmed its dedication to public safety and maintaining peace in society.
