A portion of the Fitr Zakat collected across the Maldives has been directed toward humanitarian relief for the people of war-torn Gaza, Palestine.
The Zakat House has confirmed that USD 32,425 has been handed over to ISRA Association Maldives, a leading civil society organisation dedicated to advancing humanitarian assistance and advocacy for Palestinian rights. This contribution will be used specifically to provide critical food aid to families enduring immense hardship amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
ISRA Association Maldives, recognised for its consistent efforts in mobilising support for Palestine, welcomed the donation as a vital lifeline for vulnerable communities.
In addition to the Gaza aid, USD 27,480 from the Fitr Zakat proceeds was allocated to the Trust Fund of the Ministry of Social and Family Development to assist underprivileged locals.
