The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Maldives, Yahya Hassan Alqahtani, reaffirmed the historic and increasingly robust relationship between the two nations during a ceremony in Malé commemorating Saudi Arabia’s Founding Day.
The annual observance, held on 22 February to mark the establishment of the first Saudi state, drew a distinguished gathering of dignitaries. Maldivian cabinet ministers and senior government officials joined high-ranking representatives from the Saudi diplomatic mission, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
In his remarks, Ambassador Alqahtani underscored the enduring bonds that have facilitated progress across multiple sectors. He noted that relations between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives have been profoundly strengthened, reflecting on the historic foundations that continue to unite the two countries. The ambassador conveyed that both nations take pride in their shared history, mutual confidence, and leadership, and he stressed the importance of this diplomatic partnership as the two countries look ahead with optimism.
The ceremony provided a platform for highlighting the depth of bilateral cooperation and the achievements made possible through sustained engagement.
