Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has attended the final match and closing ceremony of the Golden Futsal Challenge 2026.
The ceremony was held at the Rehendhi Futsal Ground in Hulhumalé, with the final being played between between Naivaadhoo, Haa Dhaalu Atoll and Dhevvadhoo, Gaafu Alif Atoll. Prior to kick-off, the Vice President met and shook hands with players from both teams.
The ceremony also honoured those who contributed to the tournament's success, with trophies presented to standout players and teams.
Navaidhoo claimed the championship title with a decisive 9–3 victory. The Vice President presented the champions with the trophy, medals, and prize money, and crowned the King of the Tournament.
The Golden Futsal Challenge was launched in 2016 as an open tournament for every inhabited island in the Maldives, with the primary goal of fostering unity through sport.
