President Muizzu praises MNDF after gold medal win at PATS

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the Gold Medal achievement by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Special Forces team in this year's Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) competition is a source of immense pride and honour for both the Maldivian military and the nation.

The President shared these remarks in a post on his official X account today, extending his warmest congratulations to the Maldivian soldiers for their success and offering high praise and commendation to every member of the team.

In his post, the President noted that the annual competition, which featured 24 teams from 16 different countries, tests the excellence in military skills and discipline, as well as the courage, determination, physical endurance, mental fitness, and team spirit of participants under various strenuous conditions.

PATS is a top-level competition designed to strengthen and enhance military capabilities. The competition covered military techniques and operational response in various situations. Fifteen soldiers from the National Counter Terrorism Centre represented the Maldives in the tournament held at the National Counter Terrorism Centre, Pabbi, Pakistan from 5 to 7 February.

It is a key policy of the President to strengthen the military, with ongoing efforts to expand training opportunities and enhance operational readiness.
