The South Asian Travel Awards (SATA), one of the most prestigious honours in the South Asian tourism industry, has officially opened applications for this year’s awards.
This marks the 10th edition of the SATA Awards. The awards ceremony will be held this year in Sri Lanka, with Colombo confirmed as the host city.
The deadline for submitting applications is 25 April. Applications must be submitted through the official SATA website.
As part of the 10th anniversary edition, two new award categories have been introduced: Best Chef and Best Young Hotelier. The Best Young Hotelier category is open to candidates under the age of 40.
The SATA Awards are among the largest travel and tourism awards in the South Asian region and are recognised by 15 major tourism organisations across the region. These include the Visit Maldives Corporation, travel agents’ associations, boating associations, and the Sri Lankan Hotels Association.
In recent years, the SATA Awards ceremony has been hosted in the Maldives, Sri Lanka, India and Nepal. The event is an international platform that attracts significant attention from foreign media outlets and tourism industry officials.
Organisers said winners across all categories will be selected through a transparent process, following detailed evaluations by a panel of experienced travel experts and judges.
The SATA Awards were launched to recognise excellence in hospitality and tourism across South Asia. The annual awards ceremony is attended by a wide range of institutions and associations involved in the region’s tourism industry.
