The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) collected USD 6.95 million as Zakat al Mal (property zakat) in 2025, according to official statistics.
This number is an increase of 4.8 percent compared to the USD 6.63 million collected in 2024.
MIRA said the highest collection was recorded in March, with USD 1.49 million. The second-highest collection was in July, with USD 778,210, followed by April with USD 713,359.
The Nisab, or the minimum amount of wealth or property a Muslim must have before they are obligated to pay the property zakat, was last updated on 21 December 2025. The nisab was increased to USD 1,266, up from USD 725. The change was made based on global gold and silver prices.
