Applications are now open for the Marine Hatchery Skills Development Programme.
The programme aims to build fish-farming skills and develop professionals in mariculture. The programme, run by the Maldives Marine Research Institute, in collaboration with the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources, will run from 24 January to 5 February in Maniyafushi, Kaafu Atoll.
Participation is limited to 15 individuals, with the programme targeting youth and individuals interested in fish farming and mariculture. The deadline for application is 11 January 2026.
The programme is part of broader efforts to strengthen and diversify the fisheries sector. Four rounds have been held under the programme so far, training 53 participants.
