Theveli conference to be held next year in August

Maldives National University (MNU) has announced that the annual 'Theveli' conference will take place next year from August 17 to 19. Theveli Conference, initiated by MNU, aims to provide a platform for international researchers to present their findings and share significant information regarding researches carried out.

The purpose of the conference is to consolidate Maldives’ higher education as an evidence-based research backed sector. The multidisciplinary plenary sessions held during the conference is designed to bring together professors, scholars and students from around the world to share their invaluable research findings through the conference proceedings.

The conference held over three days has now opened the call for abstract submissions.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research and Enterprise at MNU, Dr. Raheema Abdulraheem noted during the press conference that previous iterations of the conference has been highly acclaimed by the scholarly community. She stated that the previous year’s conference was highly engaging, resulting in 237 paper submissions, including 50 paper submissions across 18 different countries.

The conference to be held next year presents something new, as MNU is set to unveil its first ‘Student Symposium’ as part of the conference. The symposium offers free entrance to undergraduate students. It is designed to attract more students through sessions and showcasing research findings in their disciplines of study and interest.

MNU held it’s maiden Theveli conference in 2017. Since then, the university has held the conference every year. The university has continued to give a keen academic focus on professional research and work towards promoting scientific writing and broaden the research culture within the academic sphere.
