The Maldivian community in Sri Lanka has launched a relief initiative to support individuals and families affected by Cyclone Ditwah, as the country grapples with the devastation left behind.
The donation programme aims to provide essential items, including drinking water, food, clothing, and hygiene products. Donations of non-perishable food, children's items, bedsheets, and towels are also being accepted. Donations will be received at the Maldivian Cultural Centre, Sosun Villa, in Colombo.
Meanwhile, a telethon held in the Maldives has raised over USD 648,000 to support relief efforts.
