Dhidhdhoo Islamic Centre Inaugurates National Quran Branch, Modern Library

The Dhidhdhoo Islamic Centre Saturday took a significant step in bolstering Islamic education and knowledge dissemination with the official inauguration of a new branch of the National Centre for the Holy Quran and a state-of-the-art Islamic Library.

The dual inaugurations underscore a nationwide commitment to fostering deeper understanding of Islamic teachings and the Holy Quran.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, alongside several senior government officials and members of Parliament, highlighting the national importance of these new facilities.

The National Centre for the Holy Quran branch was officially opened by the Chief Imam of the Islamic Centre in Male’. This new branch is set to offer a diverse range of courses curated by the National Centre for the Holy Quran, aiming to deepen the community's engagement with the Holy Quran.

This development aligns with a broader national effort to establish such branches across the archipelago, with several islands already initiating or completing similar projects. The overarching goal is to cultivate a society deeply rooted in the love and understanding of the Holy Quran, with new mosques being purpose-built or adapted to host these vital educational classes nationwide.

Following this, the newly developed Islamic Library at the Dhidhdhoo Islamic Centre also saw its official inauguration. Minister of State for Islamic Affairs, Abdulla Saudan officiated the opening of the library, which boasts a rich collection of books available in Dhivehi, English, and Arabic. Designed with modern facilities, the library aims to provide an optimal learning environment for students and the community alike.

The establishment of the Dhidhdhoo Islamic Library directly responds to the President's call for the expansion of Islamic libraries throughout the country, reflecting a commitment to making religious knowledge accessible to all citizens.
