Maldives Showcases Tourism Offerings at Asia's Leading Travel Trade Show

Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) successfully showcased the unique offerings of the Maldives at Asia’s leading travel trade show, ITB Asia 2025, held at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

VMC, together with 32 representatives from 20 co-exhibiting companies, highlighted the diverse and distinctive experiences the Maldives offers to the Asian market.

As a premier meeting place for the global travel industry, ITB Asia held from 15 to 17 October, served as an invaluable platform for the Maldives to strengthen its position as a leading destination, build new partnerships, and reinforce existing relationships with key regional players, VMC said.

The participation aimed to keep the Maldives top-of-mind for long-haul travellers while driving growth across various tourism segments.

The Maldives was featured in a specially designed 99 sqm stand that captured the natural beauty and uniqueness of the islands. The stand was meticulously crafted to highlight the Maldives’ key selling points and offer visitors an immersive brand experience.

Throughout the fair, co-exhibitors and marketers engaged in scheduled meetings with travel professionals and connected with visitors to promote the destination. A strong focus remained on showcasing experiences that go beyond traditional luxury — including offerings for budget travellers, solo travellers, families, halal tourism, and honeymooners. Sustainability and conservation were also central themes at the stand, reinforcing the Maldives’ commitment to protecting its pristine environment.

VMC also highlighted the destination’s visa ease, strong air connectivity, and world-class, tailored luxury experiences. To create a more interactive experience, visitors were invited to pin their dream Maldives spots on a map, while VMC conducted a survey featuring promotional offers and giveaways.

Participation at ITB Asia 2025 underscored Visit Maldives’ ongoing strategy to maintain a strong presence in the region through integrated B2B and B2C promotional activities — including familiarisation trips, roadshows, and participation in major international fairs. VMC continues to strengthen ties with leading tour operators and media across Asia and the Pacific, positioning the Maldives as one of the safest and most desirable holiday destinations in the world.

Mohamed Luveiz, Maldives High Commissioner to Singapore, visited the Maldives’ stand during the event, reaffirming the government’s strong commitment to expanding the Asia-Pacific market.

The Asia-Pacific region remains a vital market for the Maldives’ tourism industry. As of August, the region accounted for 39.1 percent of total arrivals, with 477,623 visitors recorded.
