The government received USD 2.76 million in free aid in June this year alone, according to the Ministry of Finance and Planning.
The Finance Ministry has released its Monthly Fiscal Development Report for June, detailing the budget expenditure and revenue performance.
According to the report, the government received USD 188.2 million in June this year, marking a 20.8 percent increase compared with the USD 155.6 million recorded in the same month last year.
Tax revenue accounted for the largest share, with the state collecting USD 136.2 million in June, up 16.6 percent from USD 116.8 million in June 2024.
Meanwhile, non-tax revenue reached USD 54.7 million, compared with USD 40.3 million in the same period last year. This marks an increase of 35.7 percent. Free aid inflows also rose, with the government receiving USD 2.76 million, a 151.5 percent increase compared to USD 1.1 million in June last year.
The Sovereign Development Fund (SDF) deposits also increased in June along with the increase in revenue. The SDF received USD 9.3 million in June this year, an increase of 53.8 percent over USD 6 million in the same month last year.
The report further notes an increase in land acquisition and conversion fees, lease extension fees, and resort rental income.
On the expenditure side, government spending stood at USD 175 million in June, a 3.6 percent increase compared to the June 2024 figure. Of this, USD 149.3 million was allocated to recurrent expenditure and USD 30 million on capital expenditure.
