HDC Links Up With MIT for Youth Empowerment Programmes

The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) on Tuesday signed a collaboration agreement with the Maldives Institute of Technology (MIT) aimed at conducting youth empowerment and career guidance programmes.

Chief Operating Officer Ahmed Mohamed signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of HDC at a ceremony held at HDC while the Director of Programmes, Adam Haleem signed on behalf of MIT.

Under the one-year MoU, HDC will conduct empowerment programmes for women, youth and people with special needs in collaboration with MIT. Career guidance programmes will be also conducted to familiarise newly graduated students with the work environment, HDC said.

The MoU will also include domestic appliance safety, motorcycle repair and maintenance programmes for youth and women, as well as wheelchair repair and maintenance programmes for people with special needs.

HDC has initiated several programmes aimed at empowering women, youth and persons with disabilities through impactful community development programmes.
