The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdulla Khaleel has sent a message of condolence to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ghana, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, following the death of Ghana's Defence Minister, and Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, and other key officials in a tragic military aircraft crash in the Ashanti Region.
"It is with deep sadness that I learnt of the unfortunate incident involving a military aircraft crash, which led to the untimely death of Hon Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Defence of Ghana, Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and other key officials of Ghana. On behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Government and the people of Ghana, particularly to the families and loved ones of those affected by this tragic incident,” the message read.
The message further stated that the Maldives stands in solidarity with the people of Ghana during this time of national mourning, and offered assurances of the Minister’s highest consideration.
