The government has handed over the development and upgrading of health centres in three islands of Baa Atoll to the Fenaka Corporation Limited.
Under the agreements, Fenaka will construct a new health centre building in Hithaadhoo and the carry out upgrades to the existing health centres in Maalhos and Dhonfanu.
The construction of Hithaadhoo’s new health centre was awarded to Fenaka Corporation for USD 2.19 million, to be completed within 730 days. The Dhonfanu and Maalhos health centre upgrades were awarded for USD 785,000, to be completed 545 days.
The upgrade projects include the development of a ward, private room, laboratory and nurse station. A procedure room, garage and store room, as well as a portico and boundary wall is also included under the project.
The agreements were signed by State Minister Ismail Abdulla on behalf of the Ministry of Health, and Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Arif signed on behalf of Fenaka Corporation Limited.
The handover ceremony of the Maalhos and Hithaadhoo Health Centres was attended by the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Mohamed Siruhan.
