Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) is set to recognise the highest taxpayers in the country in the past 15 years as part of its 15th anniversary celebrations.
The "Ran Fanara" awards will be presented to the top 15 taxpayers in the past 15 years aimed at recognising and appreciating the highest taxpayers during this period.
The awards will be presented at MIRA Annual Day celebrations where the 15 highest tax payers from 1 January 2011 to 30 June 2025 will be honoured.
All matters relating to the awards will be overseen by a committee appointed by the Commissioner General of Taxation.
According to MIRA, any amount refunded will not be considered as paid by the taxpayer while the committee will obtain written consent from the winners to present the award as the information provided is protected from disclosure under the Taxation Act.
