Two companies have been awarded contracts to develop healthcare infrastructure in Noonu Atoll.
The projects involve the construction of a new building for the Kudafari Health Centre, and the upgrade Maafaru’s existing health centre.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded the contract for the construction of Kudafari Health Centre’s new building, while the upgrading of the health centre in Maafaru has been awarded to the Fenaka Corporation Limited.
The agreements were signed by State Minister of Health, Ismail Abdulla , on behalf of the government. MTCC was represented by its Managing Director, Deputy commissioner of Police (Retired) Ahmed Saudi, while Fenaka Corporation was represented by its Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Arif.
Fenaka Corporation Limited’s contract to upgrade the Maafaru Health Centre is valued at USD 706.874, with work expected to be completed within 450 days. The upgrade includes the development of a 4-bed ward, a private room, a nurses’ station, a meeting hall as well as a public health unit. A portico will also be constructed as part of the project.
The MTCC project in Kudafari is valued at USD 1.79 million, with the construction of the new building to be completed within 360 days.
