Maldivian Increases Flights to Islands and India for School Holidays

The national airline, Maldivian, has announced additional flights to both local destinations as well as India during the upcoming school holiday period.

Each year, during the school holidays, Maldivian offers additional flights to its destinations to meet the demand for both domestic and international flights. This year, the airline will operate additional flights to 16 islands across the Maldives and two Indian cities, scheduled to run from 22 June to 9 August.

Details of additional flights to be operated during the school holidays:

• 23 July – Kulhudhuffushi City, Hoarafushi, Kooddoo, Maafaru, Fuvahmulah City
• 24 July – Gan, Kaadedhdhoo, Fuvahmulah City, Kadhdhoo, Hanimaadhoo, Maafaru, Kulhudhuffushi City
• 25 July – Gan, Fuvahmulah City, Kaadedhdhoo, Kadhdhoo, Thimarafushi, Dharavandhoo, Funadhoo, Kulhudhuffushi City, Maavarulu

Maldivians commonly travel during school holidays for leisure as well as medical purposes. Maldivian has previously increased its flights during other major holidays in the past to accommodate demand.

Maldivian currently operates a fleet of 25 aircraft. These include a wide-body Airbus A330, a narrow-body Airbus A320, five ATRs, eight Dash-8s and 11 Dash 6 twin-otters.
