First Lady, Saajidha Mohamed has conveyed warm greetings and sincere good wishes to Muslims across the world on the occasion of the Islamic New Year 1447 AH.
In a post shared on her social media platforms, she prayed for peace and prosperity of all Maldivians and the Islamic Ummah.
The Islamic New Year starts on the 1st of Muharram, which is the first month in the Islamic calendar, and historically marks the moment the prophet Mohammed [peace be unto him] travelled from Mecca to Medina to escape religious persecution.
