President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed departed for Saudi Arabia on Saturday morning to undertake the sacred Hajj pilgrimage. According to a statement issued by the President's Office, the Saudi government will host the President, the First Lady, and their accompanying delegation as distinguished guests during their stay.
The official delegation comprises several senior government officials and their spouses. Among those accompanying the President and First Lady are Minister of Finance and Planning, Moosa Zameer, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdulla Khaleel, both joined by their spouses.
Also travelling are Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, and Minister of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation, Abdulla Rafiu, each accompanied by their respective spouses. Additionally, the Chief Imam of the Islamic Centre, Sheikh Mohamed Latheef, and his spouse are part of the delegation, alongside the Chief of Protocol, Mohamed Shahudy.
