President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his commitment to deepening diplomatic ties between the Maldives and Jordan, outlining his vision for the bilateral relationship in a social media post marking Jordan's Independence Day.
Extending his felicitations, he conveyed warm greetings to King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, acknowledging the significance of the occasion for the people of Jordan. "I wish Jordan continued peace, progress, and prosperity," President Muizzu stated.
President Muizzu expressed optimism about the future of relations between the Maldives and Jordan, highlighting his hope that the partnership would continue to strengthen, fostering deeper collaboration and mutual benefits. "May the Maldives-Jordan ties deepen and expand in the years ahead, ushering in mutual benefits," he affirmed.
Jordan's Independence Day, observed annually on 25 May, marks a pivotal moment in the nation's history. The occasion commemorates Jordan's formal recognition as an independent sovereign state under the Treaty of London in 1946, ending its period under British protection following the Second World War.
