President Praises MNDF for Demonstrating Devotion Through Community Service

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has praised the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) for their unwavering commitment to national service, stating that every community task carried out by the army reflects the love the army has for the Maldivian people.

The President made the remarks while speaking at a ceremony held to recognise the efforts of MNDF officers who oversaw the relocation of the Maldives Blood Services on his personal request.

During the ceremony, the President, also the Commander-in-Chief of MNDF, met the soldiers involved in the project and expressed gratitude for their service. In his address, the President noted that the Maldivian Army worked with vigilance and passion whenever the nation calls upon them. He said that every task assigned to the army shows their deep love for the people of Maldives.

Speaking about the Thalassemia Centre, the President said while the government prioritised its redevelopment, the work was not completed due to various challenges. He explained that he then entrusted the task to the MNDF to ensure its swift completion.

The President highlighted that the operation was carried out with the participation of officers of all ranks of the army, including senior ranks. He commended the high standard to which the task was completed by MNDF, and presented a commemorative plaque to the soldiers in recognition of their efforts. Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy accepted the plaque on behalf of the MNDF.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Defence, Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon, MNDF’s General Officers, Commanders and soldiers involved in the operation.
