Maldives Explores Training Opportunities With Selangor Universiti

Government on Thursday held discussions to explore human resource development in Islamic fields through collaboration with the Universiti Islam Selangor Malaysia.

The discussions were held during the meeting between Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed and the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Islam Selangor Malaysia, Dato Professor Dr Mohamed Farid bin Rawi Abdullah.

According to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, during the meeting, discussions were held regarding human resource development in Islamic fields through collaboration between the Ministry and the University.

Additionally, discussions were held during this meeting regarding seeking the University’s assistance in developing guidelines for hosting an international Quran competition, the Ministry said.

The Minister and the Vice Chancellor discussed potential programs for training Maldivian Imams and young Khateebs as well as developing human resources in important areas such as Halal management, it added.

During this meeting, the Minister expressed gratitude for the assistance provided in conducting the previous Quran reciters training program in collaboration with that University. The Minister also acknowledged and thanked the University for their support in providing Islamic Finance education to the Maldives.
