Maldives wins 4 prestigious categories at the World Travel Awards

Maldives has received four prestigious awards at the World Travel Awards (Indian Ocean Category) during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024 held at the Dubai World Trade Center.

The categories that the Maldives has won for this year are:
• Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination 2024
• Indian Ocean’s Leading Honeymoon Destination 2024
• Indian Ocean’s Leading Green Destination 2024
• Indian Ocean’s Leading Dive Destination 2024

These awards were received by Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal, Board Chairperson at Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) Aishath Noorain Janaaha, Chief Executive Officer of MMPRC Fathimath Thaufeeq, and Principal Advisor to the President on Tourism Development Mohamed Khaleel.

Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards are highly regarded in the travel and tourism industry. These awards showcase the Maldives’ position as a top tourist destination, highlighting the country’s commitment to providing unforgettable experiences to visitors worldwide and affirming MMPRC's efforts in promoting and developing the tourism sector.

Since the introduction of the Indian Ocean Category in 2003, the Maldives has achieved remarkable success, securing the Leading Destination title 17 times, Leading Honeymoon Destination 6 times, and Leading Dive Destination 9 times.

MMPRC emphasizes that these awards reflect visitors’ love and confidence in the Maldives, marking a significant step towards becoming the World’s Leading Destination.
