Generators dispatched to 6 islands, installation underway

Fenaka Corporation Limited has disclosed that new generators have been dispatched, and their installation is currently underway, to the 6 islands in vulnerable conditions, prioritizing those facing ongoing electricity challenges.

Fenaka has announced the deployment of generators and efforts are presently underway to install them in Raa Atoll, 5 islands of Baa Atoll and as well as in Burunee;Thaa Atoll. Generators have already been dispatched to islands, spanning across Baa, Raa and Thaa atolls respectively.

Moreover, Fenaka confirmed that an 800-kilowatt generator has been installed and is currently under load at Meedhoo;Raa Atoll.

Furthermore, Fenaka reiterated that efforts are being made to install a 600-kilowatt generator at Alifushi;Raa Atoll, while simultaneously is ready to install a 400-kilowatt generator in Maakurathu;Raa Atoll.

Additionally, Fenaka revealed that a 400-kilowatt generator was sent to Maalhohu;Baa Atoll and a 250-kilowatt generator was deployed to Kihaadhoo;Baa Atoll, indicating that the corporation is ready for the installation work. Concurrently, efforts are currently underway to allocate a 250-kilowat generator at Burunee;Thaa Atoll.

Fenaka reaffirmed that alongside the installation of new generators, it will implement a permanent solution to the electricity issues. It further highlighted that there has been a recent increase in electricity problems due to inadequate maintenance of engines.

The present administration has confirmed that both the generator sets and their maintenance have been neglected in the past. Sub-consequently, proactive efforts are underway to address the issue.
