287,462 ballot papers printed for parliamentary election

Election Commission of the Maldives (ECM) has stated that 287,462 ballot papers have been printed in preparations for the forthcoming parliamentary election, scheduled to take place on April 21.

ECM published relevant information regarding the printed ballot papers in the Government Gazette. The commission revealed that details related to the ballot papers for specific constituencies were also publicised. Ballot papers were printed such that each ballot box will encompass of 1% additional papers, as mandated by law.

A total of 284,663 individuals are eligible to vote for 93 constituencies. This includes 145,302 males and 139,361 females as well.

ECM proclaimed that the ballot papers for the parliamentary elections were printed by Novelty Printers and Publishers Private Limited. These companies assisted in printing the ballot papers for the presidential elections held in 2023.
