Gov't vows to establish youth-friendly workspaces

Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information, and Arts Ibrahim Waheed has pledged to establish conducive office spaces to foster youth initiatives. He made the remarks while speaking at the closing ceremony of the Youth Hackathon.

Speaking at the gathering, Minister Waheed emphasised the government's commitment to backing youth-driven projects and encouraged them to persevere in their endeavors. He expressed concerns over the scarcity of workspaces for young individuals, assuring the provision of such environments by the government.

Meanwhile, Minister of Higher Education, Employment, and Skills Development Maryam Mariya urged the populace to advance in information technology and other beneficial fields for the Maldives. She called for collaboration in addressing societal issues through fresh perspectives.

A total of 10 teams participated in the two-day Youth Hackathon, focused on aiding small businesses, pioneering mental health solutions, and empowering content creators. The winners, rewarded with USD6,500, were honored during the ceremony by Minister Mariya. The event aimed to foster innovation and address pressing challenges through technology and creativity.
