Vice President Faisal Naseem has highlighted the importance of utilising research and innovation to address social issues and ensure development. He made these remarks while speaking at the closing ceremony of the Police Research and Innovation 2023.
Speaking at the function, Vice President Faisal noted that the most significant virtue for citizens is the opportunity to live in a peaceful and safe society. He said that law enforcement officers work diligently day and night to ensure public safety and that research and innovation should be utilised to advance technology and enhance their services. He also spoke about the importance of proactively approaching emerging issues and problems in society.
The Police Research and Innovation 2023 was organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Maldives Police Service (MPS), and the Police Board. The three-day conference was held from March 18-20 and sought to strengthen connections and build a strong network among stakeholders to contribute knowledge, research findings, and experiences related to policing to enhance community-based policing.
