Maldives discusses improving digital landscape with Batelco

The government of the Maldives has discussed improving the country’s digital landscape with Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco). The discussions were held by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih during a meeting with Chairman of Batelco Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.

At the meeting, President Solih and Chairman Shaikh Abdulla discussed areas of collaboration for further improving the country’s digital landscape. They also spoke on the administration's efforts towards implementing its telecommunications policies and the president extended his appreciation to the management of Batelco for their contribution towards the achievements. They concluded the meeting after reaffirming their commitment to working closely together in the future.

Batelco is Bahrain's leading provider of digital communications solutions serving the Bahraini government, enterprise, consumer, and global markets. The company’s Tier-3 certified facilities provide mobile, internet, data, cloud services, and data centre solutions.

In late 2022, the government of the Maldives and telecommunications company Dhiraagu signed an agreement with Batelco to strengthen cyber security in the Maldives. The agreement ensures a secure cyberspace for the citizens of the Maldives through the resources of Dhiraagu and Batelco.
