Maldives and Indonesia explore new avenues of further cooperation

The Maldives and Indonesia have held discussions to strengthen bilateral consultations to explore new avenues of cooperation further to solidify the partnership between the two countries. The discussions took place during a courtesy call on Vice President Faisal Naseem by the Ambassador of Indonesia to the Maldives Dewi Gustina Tobing.

At the meeting held at the President’s Office, Vice President Naseem and Ambassador Tobing discussed the existing close bilateral relationship between the two countries. The discussions also centred on cooperation in air connectivity, higher education, healthcare services, tourism, people-to-people contact, and business cooperation between the two countries.

Furthermore, Vice President Naseem and Ambassador Tobing also spoke about the benefits of the visa waiver agreement that concluded recently and deliberated on the agreements that are currently in negotiation. The vice president concluded by expressing hope that the friendly relations between the two countries would prosper.
