A national-level training programme has been launched on eliminating corruption and financial crimes.
The three-day training programme is conducted by the INTERPOL Financial Crime and Anti-Corruption Centre (IFCAC), in collaboration with relevant government agencies and state institutions of the Maldives. The programme was officially launched on August 2 by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Abdul Mannan Yoosuf.
The training programme aims to increase the capacity of police officers and other stakeholders in retrieving funds lost through corruption and financial crimes. The programme also aims to teach methods of relaying the necessary information to law enforcement agencies and providing networking opportunities.
The programme is attended by 37 individuals across Maldives Police Service (MPS), Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) and INTERPOL NCB-Male’.
