Travellers urged to be at the airport three hours before departure

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has urged travellers to be at Velana International Airport (VIA) three hours before scheduled departure time.

MACL stated VIA is currently experiencing heavy traffic due to increased flight operations following the start of school holidays. MACL said flight delays may occur due to long queues at the passenger terminals of the airport. Therefore, MACL urged travellers to be at the airport three hours before scheduled departure time in order to minimise such delays.

Furthermore, MACL also urged travellers to wear face masks and take other personal safety measures in order to minimise the spread of COVID-19 and other diseases. MACL urged travellers to abide by the guidelines of Health Protection Agency (HPA) when travelling.
