Parliament approves appointment of two Ambassadors

Parliament of the Maldives has approved the appointment of Hassan Sabir as the Non-Resident Ambassador to South Korea and Umar Abdul Razzaq as the Non-Resident Ambassador to the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

The parliament approved the appointment of the non-resident ambassadors with 39 votes in favour. Hassan Sabir is currently the Ambassador to Japan while Umar Abdul Razzaq is the Ambassador to Belgium and the Mission to the European Union (EU).

Hassan Sobir previously served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Belgium and as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Head of Mission to the EU. He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of South Wales, Australia, and has held various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Omar Abdul Razzak previously served as the High Commissioner to Sri Lanka. He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Edith Cowan University, Australia, and has fulfilled various senior roles in the government.
