Discussions have been held on enhancing cooperation between the Maldives and Malaysia in the education sector. The discussions were held during Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali’s meeting with the Minister of Education of Malaysia Radzi Jidin, as part of the minister’s ongoing visit to Malaysia.
During the meeting, discussions were held on providing technical and vocational training to students of Maldivian schools and on exchanging student experiences between the two countries. The two ministers also discussed plans to facilitate the training of professional teachers and principals.
Furthermore, Education Minister Dr. Aishath Ali also shared concerns of some Maldivian students and parents living in Malaysia. As such, she made a request to the Malaysian education minister to resolve the difficulties faced in acquiring parent visas.
