Police investigating threats made against Ex-President Yameen

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has started investigating threats made on social media against former President Abdulla Yameen.

MPS stated a request was received on May 2 to investigate alleged threats made against former President Yameen in a video posted on social media. MPS revealed it had received another request on May 3 to investigate threats made against the former president on a Facebook post.

MPS said it is currently looking into these matters. However, no further details have been disclosed regarding the case.
