The Chief of the Naval Staff of India Admiral Radhakrishnan Hari Kumar has assured President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih of the continued cooperation in the defence sector. He made the remarks during a meeting with President Solih.
During the meeting, President Solih welcomed the admiral to the Maldives and remarked that defence cooperation is an integral aspect of the Maldives-India relationship. The president also noted that military cooperation between the two countries has increased over the past three years.
At the meeting, Admiral Kumar assured the continued cooperation in the defence sector, citing that India and the Maldives hold numerous joint exercises, maritime safety, and patrolling in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Concluding the call, President Solih wished the admiral a fruitful visit to the Maldives.
