HRCM completes investigation of over 340 cases submitted last year

Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) has revealed it had completed the investigation of over 340 cases that were submitted to the commission last year.

As per the statistics published by HRCM, the commission received 520 cases last year of which 347 cases reached a conclusion. The cases registered at HRCM last year include 136 cases relating to healthcare rights of detainees, of which 58 cases were concluded. HRCM also received 68 cases related to torture and 64 cases related to the judiciary, of which 37 and 59 of these cases were concluded.

HRCM revealed 624 cases have been or are under investigation at the commission this year, which includes cases carried forward from last year and new cases submitted this year. HRCM stated 69 of these cases have been concluded.
