Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) has revealed efforts are underway to present the Maldives Broadcasting Awards in August.
Speaking to PSM News, President of the Broadcasting Commission Mariyam Waheeda said preparations are underway to present the award and some tasks have already been completed. Mariyam Waheeda also said if works are being done according to schedule, the award ceremony can be held in August.
MBC has also announced seeking a party to organise and manage the awards ceremony. As such, interested parties can now submit necessary documents as per the guidelines.
The Maldives Broadcasting Awards ceremony was first scheduled to be held last year. However, the award ceremony was postponed due to the budget restraints caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is noteworthy that no awards have been specifically given to broadcasters in the Maldives in the past. However, the Journalism Awards presented by Maldives Media Council (MMC) are presented in several fields related to broadcasters.
