President’s Office managed costs transparently in 2020

The Auditor General’s Office (AGO) has revealed the President’s Office had managed its costs transparently in accordance with the state regulations in 2020.

AGO made the statement in its audit report on the financial year of the President’s Office in 2020. The report includes the financial information on the President’s Office as well as the official residences of the president and the vice president.

The report, which was signed by Auditor General Hussain Niyazi, states that the President’s Office had managed its finances in accordance with the allocated budget and the established state regulations. As such, the President’s Office had used USD9 million of the USD9.5 million budget in 2020 for management purposes, paying salaries, and funding trips.

The report also includes the audit report for 2019, in which the President’s Office was allocated a budget of USD13 million.
