President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has launched a mobile phone application developed by the Maldives Police Service (MPS). He launched the application at the ceremony held to mark the 89th anniversary of the police service in the Maldives.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Solih highlighted the importance of integrating emerging technologies with the police service to allow officers to conduct their work easily and effectively.
Users can download the mobile phone application on iOS and Android platforms, and register to receive detailed information on their yearly vehicle fee status, and information regarding traffic or parking violations. Users can also submit complaints to MPS and receive details on the investigation through the application, and submit complaints or give praise to services provided by MPS. They can also apply for criminal records or police clearance certificates.
MPS aims to use the application to keep records of interactions with the police service and provide users with information on their neighbourhood police officers and nearest police stations.
