Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali has stated language and mathematics form the foundation of education, which must be built strong in order to provide a healthy education for students. She made the remarks at the ceremony held to launch the National Curriculum on Language and Mathematics for 2022-2027.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Dr. Aishath Ali said language and mathematics are the most critical skills that can be taught through an educational institute. The minister noted the key to a successful future in education is the development of a strong mother-tongue and mathematical skills. Therefore, she called for the full support and cooperation of all teachers, parents and school management officials in achieving the objectives of the new curriculum for language and mathematics.
The National Curriculum on Language and Mathematics for 2022-2027 is being implemented to assist the learning of kindergarten and key stage 2 students. It is part of the Learning Advancement and Measurement Project (LAMP) conducted under the grant aid of UNICEF Maldives and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE).
